Artificial Intelligence is the new technology that smartens the computer. The ability of computers to mimic the problem-solving and decision-making capabilities of humans. Currently, artificial intelligence affects all sectors and fields. In simple words, artificial intelligence is a technique for making a computer, a computer-controlled robot, or a software think intelligently like the human mind.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND COVID-19 :
Covid-19 has made crucial effects on artificial intelligence. During the pandemic, AI systems play the role in addressing the health crisis by identifying its spread, and potential drug therapies. At the same time, the pandemic possesses fundamental challenges to AI systems. In covid-19, AI techniques help to overcome the pandemic.

With AI used in the healthcare sector, it predicts early covid-19 symptoms and thereby controls the spread of the infection. According to the news reports available on Pfizer’s website, the company uses machine learning during its drug development process. Pfizer also is in a partnership with CytoReason to build a simulated model for the immune system or, as the company said it,” a weather map for disease.”
Artificial intelligence has been widely used in covid-19, in diagnosis, clinical decision-making, public health, vaccine development, and surveillance, by the use of big data, operation of other core clinical services, and management of patients with covid-19.
TYPES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE :
- Based on the capabilities of AI :

- Artificial narrow intelligence.
2. Artificial general intelligence.
3. Artificial superintelligence.
- Based on the functionality of AI :
- Reactive machines.
- Limited memory.
- Theory of mind.
- Self-awareness.
Based on the capabilities of AI
- Artificial narrow intelligence :
it is the AI that exists in our world today.ANI is also called “weak AI”. narrow AI is programmed to perform a single task at a time whether it is analyzing data, predicting the weather, ability to play games, etc. this system doesn’t perform outside of the given task that they are designed to perform.
Examples of artificial narrow intelligence are image and facial recognition systems, chatbots, and conversational assistants.
2. Artificial general intelligence :
It is also known as “strong AI”. It is the type in which machines mimic the intelligence of the human mind or human behavior. AGI can be thought to understand, interpret and act in a way that is similar to that of a human, in terms of human, in terms of performance because of having cognitive computing and comprehensive knowledge.

Researchers have not been able to achieve strong AI yet, but estimate to achieve it by 2040. There are many doubts about whether AGI would ever be possible or not.
3. Artificial superintelligence :
ASI is the hypothetical AI that we have not achieved yet. So, it is the imaginary AI but we know what will happen when we achieve it. This not only interprets or understands human behavior and intelligence but ASI is where machines become self-aware enough to surpass the capacity of human intelligence and behavioral ability.
With superintelligence, machines can think of solutions/interpretations which are simply not possible for humans to think. This is because the human brain has a limit to the thinking ability which is constricted to some billion neurons.
Based on the functionality of AI
- Reactive Machines :
These are basic and old AI systems. These machines were created by IBM in the mid-1980s. this tells us that they cannot form memories and use past experiences to work on the present, and made a choice. They will only react to currently existing situations therefore, they are “reactive”. For example, the deep blue chess-playing supercomputer was created by IBM.
2. Limited memory

It is a type of AI that use previous data and predictions, using that data to make better predictions. Which reactive machines don’t do. It is the second most sophisticated AI system. Limited memory consists of machine-learning models that acquire data from previous knowledge and learn. For example, self-driving cars that use data stores in the recent past to make immediate decisions.
3. Theory of mind
Theory of mind psychologically means that people have thought, emotions and feelings that affect their behavior AI systems must learn to understand that everyone not only humans both people and AI objects have feelings and thoughts. Future AI systems have to learn how to adjust their behavior to walk among us. For example, autonomous cars.
4. Self-awareness
Self-awareness is when machines are aware of their mental state and feelings. These types of machines are equal level to human intelligence and consciousness. For example, a robot arm is made by a group of students in Colombia.
– ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE/ MACHINE LEARNING/ DEEP LEARNING :
When we talk about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning there are myths. People think that these all are the same but they don’t. they are interconnected to each other but not the same. So, let’s know the difference between them.

Machine learning :
Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence. it is the study that provides computers to learn automatically on their own through experiences it had and improve without being programmed again and again. supervised, unsupervised, and regression are the classification of machine learning. It is a field where the computer learns itself and acts without being explicitly programmed.

Deep learning :
deep learning is a subgroup of machine learning which is a neural network with three or more layers. It uses big data and complex algorithms to build a model.
Artificial intelligence is explained above.
– FUTURE OF AI :
Artificial intelligence is undoubtedly a revolution in the field of computers. AI creates jobs but replaces jobs too. AI systems need to feature, monitored, and developed by human beings. AI cannot able to take over a full job but some tasks of the jobs. In the upcoming time, AI will cover all sectors.

– CONCLUSION :
Artificial intelligence is based on the principle that human intelligence is defined in a way that machines can mimic and do the task rather the task is simple or complex. Artificial intelligence will cover every sector in the future.
